Fate of critics-loved shows, ratings, cast and everything you need to know...

Only a few more days until the premiere of the The Good Wife will air. It's one of the most awaited fall shows this year, some even call it 'the best new drama'.

The expectations are high, maybe too high? The Good Wife wouldn't be the first critics-loved show that would fail rating wise. In the past a few press loved shows suffered under ratings and were cancelled later. Could this be this shows' fate too?

Not in my opinion, because we have several reasons why this show will work exactly work as the critics are saying right now.

1. The Good Wife's storyline couldn't be more real. With the recent scandals out there, could the show getting a better start?

2.  The outstanding cast. No other fall show has a better cast as the Good Wife. Lead lady Julianna Margulies, an former Emmy Award Winner, best known for her role in 'ER'.  Just seeing her in the show's previews and interviews makes us realize how much she was missed on television.

Christine Baranski has achieved acclaim in every medium in which she performed. The two-time Tony, Emmy (also nominated currently for another one), Screen Actors Guild and American Comedy Award-winner's feature film credits include "Mama Mia," "Chicago," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "Cruel Intentions,"  "9 ½ Weeks" and "The Birdcage," for which she received a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Matt Czuchry, a mostly under-rated actor most known for his role of Rory Gilmore's boyfriend 'Logan Huntzberger' in the WB show 'Gilmore Girls'. On September 25th 'I hope they serve beer in hell' premieres, his first role as the leading man.

Chris Noth, better known as 'Mr Big' from 'Sex in the City'. A charismatic actor with a large list of past projects and a even larger group of fans

Josh Charles, A veteran of television, film and theater who might be most known for his role in the award winning show 'Sport's Night'.

And last but not least the outstanding British actress Archie Panjabi, who just might be the big newcomer of the year 2009/2010.

3. The script. It's well written, it offers everything you want in it, there were no flaws. I read it myself and loved it. And if the pilot script is just an example for the great scripts ahead of us, how could get anything wrong.

4. CBS. Of course the networks is standing behind all of its new projects but it is no secret that 'The Good Wife' is the networks favorite and that they hope it will turn out exactly like last years hit show 'The Mentalist'.

5. Last the critics. Of course like I mentioned above there are time when they don't mean anything. But can they be all wrong? Summed up, the show got the best notes and reviews of all shows.  Everyone watching the pilot liked or even loved it, even if it wasn't there kind of show.

"What doesn't work : I can't think of anything substantive. The bottom line: This is most definitely a year of surprises on the drama front as "The Good Wife" might just be the best new hour and I sure didn't see it coming." - the futoncritic

"All-star cast that includes SPORTS NIGHT alum Josh Charles, the always enjoyable Christine Baranksi and ex-GILMORE Guy Matt Czuchry aside, a season pass for THE GOOD WIFE is a forgone conclusion when you factor in the following evidence: Its 10 p.m. “competition” is Jay Leno? over on NBC and the already-troubled Jerry Bruckheimer procedural THE FORGOTTEN on ABC. In other words, meet next season’s break-out hit" - the TV Addict

"It's not often that a screener of a script I loved wows me. It happens far more often when I wasn't as high on the script, but changes were made and the story translated well to the screen. I'm beyond pleased that The Good Wife works even better on screen than the script I read (and loved) did." - Travis Yanan

"What could have been a cliched-ripped-from-the-headlines, just another episode of Law and Order type show, was actually quite the opposite. The acting is fantastic, the story feels real, and I think this will be a hit for both Margulies and CBS." - The TV-Chick

"And as medical-based shows are now running their course with viewers and legal dramas again take the forefront, I anticipate that this will be a show that last for many, many seasons." - The Mom Trap

"The Good Wife is better than good. It’s great." - TV Guide (Canada)

"The Good Wife is the safest bet, the most likely hit and the best new show" - Orlando Sentinel

"The best new drama" - The Buffalo News

"The fall's top (and most topical) new drama." - New York Post

"Julianna Margulies has never been better as a wife and mother forced to pick up her long-dormant career as an attorney and return to work in a pressure-cooker law firm after her politician hubby, played by Chris Noth, lands himself in jail. There are a lot of human issues to sort out here -- apart from the legal cases -- and a splendid cast to do it" - The Daily Journal

"The can’t-miss new series of the season is The Good Wife on CBS." - Tom Jicha's TV Plus

  • It's ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson favorite new show on a rival network
  • Vampire Diaries' Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec both love the show
  • EW's Mike Ausiello thinks that the show doesn't suck, like at all. It's also in his top5 new show list

So can they be all wrong? They can, but I really doubt it. For now no one can really say how this show will do. For now let's keep our fingers crossed
